Lunch at The 522 – Fine Wine and Taps Woodinville
The 522 Fine Wine and Taps is tucked away in the back of a industrial park/strip mall in Woodinville Washington. Not too hard to find, The 522 has a full bar and a ton of beers on tap. I was looking for a place to have lunch in Woodinville after a couple of client meetings. I had seen some of their posts online and I always thought there was more to this place that met the eye. I was right.
I came in on a cold misty day, and I was looking for some comfort food for lunch. There were probably about 3 tables with people already eating. I was flying solo, so I sat at the bar which can seat about 10 or so. The 522’s menu is not huge, but it has a great variety of different dishes from pasta’s, burgers, soups and sandwiches. Super friendly and helpful staff guided me through the menu.
Come to find out the restaurant, like many restaurants in our area is family owned and operated. Dad is in the kitchen and mom and daughter run the front of the house.
The waitress mentioned that everything on the menu was made from scratch. I’m a sucker for fresh pasta (which they make by hand), so I chose the Chicken Fettuccine. It comes with a salad, but I decided against getting it, wasn’t really in a salad mood. The dish came out promptly after I ordered and received my Arnold Palmer.

I ordered my chicken well done, which to my delight was actually well done. Many places I go to, either ignore my request or just make it the way they want to make it.
The dish was fettuccine, sauteed chicken, zucchini (which I passed on)and marsala wine in a garlic cream chardonnay sauce, served with a house salad, which again I passed on (don’t judge me). I noticed that the entrée did not come with bread, so I asked for some bread with the meal and it arrived quickly…even before I was done taking my pictures. It was warm and crispy. It was light and fluffy and came with some great herb butter. The pasta was so good. Perfectly prepared and just the right enough size. I loved every bite. Every. Single. Bite. Some of the best pasta I have ever had.
The waitress came back a couple of times to ask if I needed anything. She was super sweet. She kind of had the vibe of the main actress on Airplane the movie, totally sweet and appreciative.
They have a number of beers on tap, I counted at least 20 or so. You can find all of the varieties on their website. Lunch time seemed slow for a place of this quality, it was a Tuesday after all, but my guess at night this is a GREAT spot to come and grab a beer and dinner. When I asked, they said that they are busy on the weekends and they suggest folks get a reservation. The 522 Fine Wine and Taps offers catering and can host large parties here in the dining room if needed.
There are separate menus for dinner and lunch. I checked out the dinner menu and wow. Surf and Turf, Chicken Wellington, Roasted Duck (a HALF duck!) and a few pasta dishes as well. Yeah, I’m coming back.
I had a great lunch experience. The food is off the charts awesome. This place should be way, WAY more busy. I would suggest hitting The 522 Fine Wine and Taps before the secret gets out if it has not already.
