May 6th Ribbon Cutting for Kenmore’s Newest Waterpark
About the May 6th Event
Vendors and businesses will be onsite for the May 6th event. The event will start at 10am. There will be an Activities Fair following the ribbon cutting ceremony on May 6, 2023, at 11 a.m.
Ribbon Cutting Ceremony, Saturday, May 6th, 10am at the Waterfront Plaza.
ƛ̕ax̌ʷadis (TI’ awh-ah-dees) Park is located at 7515 NE 175th St in Kenmore.
Kenmore Kayak Storage, located right across the street from the kayak and boat friendly park. They will also have a special event going on during that time. So feel free to walk across the street
About the Park
The 6.7 million dollar park is perfect for folks looking for a place to launch their paddle craft boat as well as a great place for families to come and walk around and interact with nature and the waterfowl in the area.
Lots of bridges and paths make it a fun little park to walk. Below are some images we took when Captain Steve from Kenmore Kayak Storage and WhatsSup Paddle Board and Surf brought us down for a tour of the new Kenmore park.

Park Name
In April of 2021, Kenmore City Council passed agreed to change the name of Squire’s Landing Park to ƛ̕ax̌ʷadis (Tl’ awh-ah-dees), the name of the Lushootseed village previously located in or near present-day downtown Kenmore. ƛ̕ax̌ʷadis translates to “a place where something is grown or sprouts” and honors the Coast Salish People who originally inhabited the area, and the many Indigenous Peoples who still reside here.
